Kalymnos alymnos is located approx. 300 kms south east of Athens, and 100 kms north west of Rhodos. Most of the about 14 000 inhabitants are living in Pothia, the main city of the island.

Arriving on Kalymnos with a boat your first impression is the most beautiful sight to the harbor round. Right and left hand the houses in pastel shade look like sticked at the hills. Around the harbor is a nice promenade with tavernas, kafeníons, tourist shops, bakeries, fish traders and a lot more. All important services like post office, banks, pharmacies etc. are located in Pothia. Kalymnos is well known as the island of the sponge divers.

Very popular for it's best quality and the delicious taste is the thyme honey from Kalymnos. The Kalymnian people are very friendly, helpful and open-minded to foreigners, but not importunate. Most of them speak very well English.
